Look, here’s the thing…

There’s dozens of old Tally Hall rarities; be them TH demos, recordings from listedBlack, Toy Orchestra, Joe’s personal demos, etc. that are out there.  I’d love to share them and I would have long ago if I wasn’t such a nice guy.

On two occasions over the years, I’ve specifically asked the band what their thoughts on are sharing those mp3s.  On both occasions, I was disappointed by, but respectful of their answer.

Essentially, they know they can’t stop anyone from sharing them, but if they had it their way, NONE of those songs would be put up for public consumption.  So if sharing must occur, it should occur privately.

Personally, although I can understand the embarrassment one might feel from having old, sub-par recordings out there, I don’t agree with their thoughts on the matter.  Everyone loves hearing that stuff no matter what they sound like and if I had a band that was even semi-successful, I’d put that stuff out there for fun now and then.

But these are the wishes of Tally Hall.  So since I know they appreciate the fact that I respect those wishes, I’m sure they’d appreciate seeing everyone else respect those wishes too.
